Hello everyone. I hope you’ve all been wassailing the bees and the apple trees to welcome in the new year. We need all the bees and apple trees we can get.
Now it’s 2020 it’s probably time we started promoting our new sketch comedy night, the one whose website you are on right now.
Our first night is Tuesday 28th January, and tickets are on sale now for the very reasonable price of a fiver a pop. That’s cheaper than a pint of fancy ale in some London pubs. It’s cheaper than a pint of shit lager in others. What are you waiting for?
We are extremely happy to announce that our special guests for January’s show is the awesome duo Shelf. Shelf are Rachel Watkeys Dowie and Ruby Clyde. They have been friends for donkeys’ years and my jeebus does that come across in their performance; like all the best double acts, they bring you into their shared brain enclave and make you laugh until your cheekbones hurt. We’re tremendously excited and honoured to have them as the second act on our debut night.
We’ve also booked some very exciting acts for future months, but we shall tell you about those in future posts. We don’t want to use up all our announcement eggs in one blog post soufflé.
Meanwhile us Next Sketch writers and performers have been working on our own sketches. Having turned up to at least 2/3rds of the writing sessions I can say two things: the quality of the submissions is very high, and I’ve never been in a group with more positive and useful sketch feedback.
If you want to join us for our future writing sessions, provided you’ve done a Hoopla course there is literally nothing – nothing – stopping you. Get in touch!
That’s it for now. Thank you for reading this far. I hope it was worth it.

P.S. If you can’t wait until the show why not watch those funny Shelf ladies doing some videos.
